At times, parents figured that should they want to design a nursery which encouraged a child to learn and relax, they would not be able to make it stylish. So they unhappily browsed through gaudy infant equipment, Disney sheets, and ABC-covered blankets, all completely at odds with the rest of their home.

Everybody these days realizes that you don't have to have a nursery that's out of sync with the rest of your house in order to make it a great place for baby to learn and play. These developments are reinforced by the growth in choice of stylish linens that have hit the marketplace, particularly the much vaunted addition of products grouped under Designer nursery bedding.

Don't presume the word “designer” means very expensive when you start looking for your baby bedding boys. Simply put, this type of bedding goes with just about any known home decorating style while still managing to create an intensely engaging space for a newborn son, and you can get quite a wide variety of multi-item sets all for under 0.

Parents who want to create a traditional nursery for their son may decide in favor of a baby bedding set based on patchwork theme which is available in host of color combinations. If you're a parent with a more contemporary frame of mind, you are likely to be drawn to the wide array of unique geometric prints and monochromatic collections. Those searching for designer bedding for their son will not be disappointed with the huge selection.

Crib bedding sets comes in regular, defined sizes, the idea being these standard sizes are the most suitable and secure for very young children. The cheapest linens and the ones which are most safe for your little boy can be found in the regulation-sized collections. If the parents go for a collection while deciding to buy a baby bedding, they do not have to bother about finding individual matching items, rather they can concentrate on their preferred color and style to create a beautiful place for their little ones.

A nursery matching with full color combinations and patterns has its educational impact along with hours of play and listening to motivating stories. Your son's room should be decorated in the same manner in which you would decorate any other room in your home. You are the one who is going to teach alphabet to your baby boy in any manner.

  • Throwing a Shower for Mom And Second Baby

Having a baby shower is a nice way to help new parents get off on the right foot with all they need. It’s also an important way for loved ones to show their support of the parents. Some people consider it improper to have a second-baby shower, since it was unlikely that mom and dad would need very much, especially the big-ticket items. However, having a second-baby shower is still appropriate, if you make certain adjustments.

You could make it an essentials-only shower, asking guests to bring items that are always needed, such as bottles (the nipples always wear out or get lost), diapers and wet wipes, and burp cloths. You can also make a list of whatever the parents say they need but did not receive with their first child. Another option is to make it a shower for mom instead of a shower for the baby, and ask the guests to bring items that mom will need and appreciate at the end of her pregnancy and shortly after the birth. These can be pampering items like rich body wash, or practical items like pajamas.

Another great idea is to have a mom-focused shower – but reminding her that she’s not just a mom, with gifts that are for her alone, like romantic perfume or a bit of sexy (supporting!) lingerie. The guests might choose to pool together to buy a gift certificate for something extravagant like a day for two at the spa or a fancy dinner – but be sure to include babysitting arrangements. You might also consider sitting down with the father-to-be and the guests, prior to the party, to draw up a dry-erase calendar with offers of assistance to the new mom.

There are many things you can do that will be appreciated, like getting the house organized while mom and baby are in the hospital, taking the older child to and from school (especially during that first week) or helping mom and dad juggle kids while doing errands. The calendar can be revealed to the mom-to-be at the shower, along with all the names and phone numbers of the volunteers. It may be that both mom and the baby in fact don’t need anything new. You can also just have a straight-up party, intimate or with many friends and family, to celebrate the upcoming birth.

You may want to ask the guests to bring baby items for donation to a women’s charitable organization. Another idea for a second-baby shower is to hold a “freezer” party, with guests bringing food that can go in the freezer or else be easily stored. Mom will appreciate this help in the last days of her pregnancy and immediately after the birth. Be sure to check with mom first to find out if she has enough space, and also choose a date for the shower close to the delivery date.

A final note – if the baby-to-be is a “caboose” baby – one that is being born several years after the last child the parents had – you can feel comfortable hosting a traditional shower. In many cases mom and dad will no longer have even the big-ticket items anymore, or they might be considered unsafe under today’s standards.

Regardless of the type of shower you are holding or if the gifts are large or small, remember that you are there to let the mom know that she and her new baby have all your love and support.
