The secrets of Asia have fascinated Europeans for many years. As time has passed we have seen many aspects of the Eastern world creeping into Western culture, such as fashion and film making. One huge area where Oriental influences are having an impact is in the homes of Europeans. Here we look at how you can transform your bedroom by introducing the bedding style of three Asian countries.

    The Chinese Option

If you are looking to create a Chinese feel to your bedroom then you have two main options. The first and perhaps the most obvious option is to opt for a red bed cover, using highly decorative pillows as a way of adding detail. The second option is to go for a quilt that is made from Chinese brocade silk, which will usually sees designs combined of rich golds, reds and greens.

    A Japanese Feel

Unlike the more obvious and extravagant Chinese designs, Japanese bedding tends to be more simple. If you are hoping to incorporate a Zen-like feel within your bedroom then you should go for natural colours such as light brown, greens and beiges. By opting for plain bed linen, with few pillows and little decoration, you will create an aura of calmness within your bedroom.

    Choosing Thai

Thai silk is one of the country’s largest exports and offers a real feeling of luxury. If you want to recreate the feeling of nature within your bedroom then opt for quality bedding made from Thai silk. A bed made from bamboo and some decorative pillows will finish the look off nicely.

There are certainly many different styles and designs that you can look at when introducing an Asian feel to your bedroom and much fun to be had when making your choices.
